Mythical Metals & Mining

If we are getting more, deeper mine levels maybe it's time to add some new rarer metals in to the mining and smithing industry.

Mythical Metals

Orichalcum, adamantium, unobtainium, vibranium, mythril, nightsteel, there are so many to choose from, all with their own lore and interesting fictional properties.

I think it would be cool to have a few mythical metals dispersed at the new, lower cave levels, or even have a chance to appear in tiny trace amounts in meteors. Could make for some new and interesting jewelries and guilds and add some more incentive to dig lower than level 5.

In addition to this it could be fun to also add sources of magma and natural lava at lower levels? Or even tiny vents like geysers that we can harvest from like a local resource node. At the risk of sounding too minecrafty I think it would be very thematic to have a way to find or create obsidian but for making blades and arrowheads.

I hope these metals will not suffer the fate of Rose Gold.

Ores that you proposed sound a little bit like they would belong in your bog-standard fantasy setting, which I don't think Haven really is

Would be 100% for other, more grounded in reality ores like Zinc (maybe used to make brass and also with some use in medicine) or Lead (so we could get some delicious lead poisoning wounds implemented)

Or you can add an optional (like spices when frying meat) for a slight improvement in quality when crafting metal objects.

They are so rooted in popular fantasy lore that they almost don't have that majestic, unreal feel though. Jorb and Loftar have said that they don't mind delving in to the realm of more fantasy like content but they prefer to keep it underground. I'm not saying we should all be prancing around in mystical glowing armour, BUT similar to a magical silver ring that can save you from drowning, perhaps the mystical aspect of mining and smithing can be stretched a little.

We have slimes and trolls and such, and now with ocean thematics it could stand to reason that maybe there would be some sort of buried atlantean relics or mystical metals underground.

I would much, much, much, much, much, much, much, MUCH rather see the addition of a broader array of REAL ores and metals (and the resulting alloys) like zinc and nickel and platinum and lead and bismuth and so forth.

I would like one super rare fantasy ore.

Just one type of adamantine or some shit. I don't want to bog this game down with too many ores, and I certainly don't want too many stupid, niche, nigh on useless 'real life' ones.
