Inner village crossroads

Implement crossroads again.

They should work only on village - personal claim and can't point outside the claim they are built on.

They should always be bidirectional (to prevent gateless vaults and shit).

They should be free to travel over (makes no sense to have weariness on short distances anyway).

Yes it will lead to extending village claims over massive distances because roads now suck ballz. Yes you can balance village authority if you want.

No nobody wants to fucking walk same path 50 times a day, that is not fun gameplay. Except Lunarius that guy is a masochist possibly doesn't even play and is a sadist instead.

Convince me otherwise! larpers and masochists need not apply.

They kinda are, in a way. At least, in how quickly you can expand. The sprawling vclaims of legacy worlds are still achievable but will at least take a little while.

Gonna +1 the fuck out of this idea though so I can navigate my future metropolis.

Cost of banner upkeep can be increased with distance from the idol. It can even be non linear (e.g. quadratic or some threshold) to effectively limit village radius.

So... restore roads to exactly what they were, but in another obscure system, merely calling them something else, leaving roads in as an almost strictly inferior alternative that does the same thing?

I guess the village coverage would be a difference, but, yeah...

Yeah, this is a definite no. Glad to hear you're behind that Jorb.
jorb: I don't want *your* money. You are rude and boring. Go away.
Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.

I don't know if that's quite what was proposed. The way I interpreted this was to implement strict fast traveling point-to-point structures that could only be placed inside of a v-claim. Nothing to do with milestone roads. Nothing to do with slow travel. Roads would still be useful for you know, connecting your long distance routes that you aren't covering with your v-claim, or doing literally every other task other than teleporting within your claim.

Make that inner village roads dont use the TW debuff. In previous worlds there were many villages with their inner road system inside the village, but it is not worth it anymore with the TW debuff and they wont need to implement a whole new concept of tp.

Make it only work inside walls, because then we will get just villages that allow us to jump from one side of mountain to another.

Exactly what Vigilance said

The village coverage is THE difference, they can't go out the village, they can't go to another village they can't go anywhere but your own village.
And no it won't leave roads inferior alternative as they won't even be considered for inner city travel because they are not usable for that with the new system anyway. I mean wine was stupid but this is way stupider.

-Boy go to the market and buy some carrots!
-But Mom I already went to the school and back home went to Johny at the end of the street and to visit dad at work today I can't go to the market anymore I'm too tired, I will have to rest for a few days. Yeah...

I swear to god you're the biggest larper of them all. But I saw your base in that stream... why would I expect you to care about multiple trips you couldn't even be bothered to clean up your shit heap what do you even know about efficiency and tedium...

The increased cost for banners from village center is one way to add cons to it.

The within walls solution I don't think can work unless loftar has figured how to check for that, he couldn't years ago.
