27 chickens vs Infected sore

I think it might be slightly off balance right now. 5 minutes in a swamp and one has to spend rest of the day chasing chickens and rabbits for a bar of soap. Considering the fact that this wound is dynamic and won't heal on it's own and the newbiehood is the time when swamps are needed most, maybe something should be done about this. Make the soap cheaper or add some other means for healing like, for example, swimming naked cleanse 1 unit of the wound, or let this wound appear slightly more seldom. Please.
And here I should apologize for my spelling... But I won't! Deal with it :P

Literally all you have to do is not go in the swamp when you have wounds that can get infected.

Or do exactly that, in case these are wounds that you can't cure and are able to turn into infected sores...

Unless you're at less than half HHP, what's the big deal? I see it as an opportunity to get rid of otherwise difficult to heal wounds.

I was all pissed off and moaned about them, too, until I had a character that was at under 1/3 HHP from trying to create a "new player experience" and share my thoughts with jorb (ie I was on standard client, trying to make it where I landed... right in the middle of snake forest on a game trail). I was ready to suicide the character, but stuck it out, and was saved a good month of normal "healing"--once I could have gotten the appropriate items--by infected sores. yes, they can be risky if you get a lot, but reward is not without its risk.

And then there's this: let 27 chickens be sacrificed to cure you of your illness. Sounds like a good trade to me. otherwise, 30, 60 days (or more) to heal some severe wounds with certain healing items.

while this wound isn't really that serious I agree that the price of soap is significantly higher when compared to other craftables used as curiosity/healing item, so I think that making soap and fat use 2 pieces of the ingredient that is needed to make them, rather than 3, is a reasonable idea

ive had no issues in the swamps and ive constantly got wounds. of course i have sense enough to not SWIM in the swamp but rather ride a horse, so that might have something to do with it. only problem i have is with the hundred thousand frogs per swamp that make it impossible for me to reliably click a dragonfly from the map.

also, youre gonna be running around the map anyways if you have any sense, early game mass graving chickens left and right for dem bones, not to mention guts for murkwood curios, and feathers for trinkets, and wishbones for 2 low grade rings (cant remember the name, gives like +1str and +2exploration or something.). 27 chickens? is that a joke? i literally take my cart with 6 crates, and make treks around the map to where i know chickens spawn and kill every single one of them. i do this 2-3 times a day for bone glue. im about to upgrade my storage boxes, so ill be able to carry even more crap soon. 27 chickens. pft. come at me bro.

27 chickens to heal 3 HHP. I have more than 20 damage by this wound. Simply hope this would not kill me.

Midge bite is pretty much unavoidable in swamps and it gets infected. So the infection is practically guaranteed in a swamp. Not a solution.

To all the rest: still a bit cheaper bar of soap would be nice, don't you think?

yeah its better to use camomile compress for infected sore and use other curiosities because soap is an awful curiosity
then you can save 27 meat for sausages/meatpies or other good foods
