Make certain injuries less severe

Postby Thatguyintheback100 » Sat Feb 16, 2019 4:40 am

Combat isn't even worth it sometimes if i can pick up a Something Broken and then get 2 more from nowhere.

It just makes me not want to hunt which i know i'll have to do anyways.

It just kinda hurts the solo life style :/

It hurts the altless lifestyle for sure. That's what I've taken to doing during my massive downtimes. You can quest up a combat character, build roads on a slave alt, etc

I got 3 broken bones from slinger hunting boars and 20 UA fighting bats. The most extreme thing i've killed is an adder

too bad
why don't you use basic tactics like leaving the cave every hit or using a good sized and shaped cliff to hunt boars? (do that, next time you shouldn't have such problems, hope that helps)

and with 20 ua you could easily tank a single bat and kill him while taking some damage lol, clearly it wasn't just one bat(if it was then I have bad news) - if you do still have this problem then I think I can help you with this very good tutorial viewtopic.php?f=42&t=52368

I really don't get how people are getting injuries like this. If you fight well and be careful, even without cheesing, you won't get any wounds more severe than punch-sores. If you're not sure you can win, always leave an escape route - whether that's a boat, water you can swim across, or a cave/house/burrow you can escape into, and you should be able to escape when things go wrong before you get any serious wounds.

with q10 axe, 20 ua and 10 agi against a boar he shold end up with nicks&nacks for like 5-10 points (at the best) if he used some cliff (properly of course)

except burrows, some animals might destroy them, unless something changed since I have seen that

It's not that i'm making mistakes like everyone is making it out to be. I'll come out of a battle with just some health missing and i'll check my wounds and see i now have an extra something broken or i have a wretched gore. It's surprising since at any point i'm never losing /that/ much health in a single encounter

Sounds like your issue is wound stacking.

If you go into a fight with certain wounds, they can be upgraded by a second wound being applied. Example being Nicks and Nacks upgrading into Scrapes and Cuts. You get the really bad wounds either by a huge hit, or by letting smaller stacks of less severe wounds get upgraded.
