Fishing Net Claims - A Solution

Postby Lunarius_Haberdash » Thu Feb 21, 2019 9:48 pm

Can we have fishing nets affected by our permissions, essentially functioning like a personal claim?

Issue: Personal Claims for Fishing Nets are clumsy and inconvenient.
Proposed Solution: Add a Fishing Net setting for colors/permissions set by the placer.

After 36 hours the fishing net will not be protected and can be removed by anyone. Prior to those 36 hours removal of the fishing net will be considered a "theft" crime.
jorb: I don't want *your* money. You are rude and boring. Go away.
Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.

I think it will be irritating when the men block rivers with them and you can already build claim and extend it into the waters. This do not seem needed to me.

I do feel that with the advent of oceans, fishing nets having no real protection feels iffy. There's not really any way to use them at sea when any shithead with a dugout can take 'em.

This idea is bad, but the thought that prompted it is pretty valid. What about water-based claims? Some kind of relatively expensive (compared to a pclaim) buoy, allowing you to claim a section of the ocean. Not sure if the functionality for building things on water is really there, though.

They don't have a hitbox. No blocking.

in 36 hours you'll catch like 4 fish so that part is dumb but they should indeed have some inherent claim to them
