Burn soil stockpiles

Postby dullah » Sun Feb 24, 2019 2:54 pm

Hello,

I found myself doing alot of terraforming work lately, and couldn't help thinking about solutions to lessen the burden of such tasks, especially regarding the disposal of the soil stockpiles.

Let us burn soil stockpiles.

The average approximate soil composition is 25% Air, 25% Water, 45% Mineral, and only 5% Organic Matter.

We could make a special high temperature torch for such purpose, with a woodblock, fat, cloth, tar.
And then light the stoil stockpiles for some time, but not days long, to produce some sand and rarely a curio (named Dullite ^^)

You can destroy stockiples with Adventure>Destroy.

Or just drop all the soil on paved ground, paved ground can't be raised/lowered and as such all the soil will simply despawn.
Total misplay.

yes i knew about both theses mechanics, which requires ton of effort and are best made with bots / disposable alts.
My suggestion would be much more passive.

Good idea.
Some way to destroy stockpiles of soil that you get from terraforming would be very nice indeed.
Currently the options are
1. Take it far away (Very tedious, lots of work)
2. Destroy it (Takes a long time if you have dozens of stockpiles)
3. Drop soil to paved area and wait for decay (Takes lot of time and effort also)
All of them are quite tedious, boring, and repetitive.

Or simply use wheelbarrow to put it outside your base and it will slowly decay without your help.

this or save it for another dirt moving project. Seems like I saw someone bitching last world about a dirt project in their base, yet when they built their base, they nuked a bunch of piles.

Doesn't take much effort to destroy a dirt pile, or any pile for that matter. It's probably cheaper for a couple hundred energy than some "special flame"

isnt it better to build a hill and a tower on top of it? or just make one area higher than the rest of your village?

Just use it somewhere else in your village, or destroy it. Terraced > Flat land.

Definitely. Gives it a more authentic feel.
