Rage make character targetable

Postby Lojka » Wed Feb 27, 2019 8:41 am

This is inspired by this topic: viewtopic.php?f=62&t=64206

So now if you don't whant to be aggressor, you do not take rage and try to live in peace.
But then one day enemy come to your village, you are 3-4 ppl here. The current problem is, he can attack you one by one.
And all 4 other ppl will helplessly look how his friends are getting raped.

So my new suggestion is to make Rage characters be targetable without rage (not while KO'd). So you can defend against them and defend your friend.
I think this is very straitforward change. If you take rage - you can attack others, and also can be attacked by others.

Like IRL, most ppl walking on streets not able to attack others, but if someone is raged, and attacking random ppl, then it is ok to KO him, so he spread chaos no more.

I know this may influence pvp, so there will be more non-rage ppl that attack other faction rage ones. But more ppl in pvp = more fun, right ?

--------------------------

NEW IDEA:
if character make crime (thieft, vandalism, assault, murder)
you can target him and steal from him without skills/crimes (for some time, like redhanded buff)

so if someone stole from you - you can punch him and take items back

For defense of your own claim or lads on your claim you actually don't need rage as far as I know. You can target anyone at any time. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I actually don't know that mechanic, interested to hear how it works.

we can find aggressor in fields, while we group hunting

also this way hermits can be into pvp a bit, without being destroyed

Indeed, it is not a thing, thus I correct myself. You can defend your own claim only.

Sooooo... Now that you "non violent" players received some sort of protection against "aggressors", you suddenly want to be able to just flat out gang on and kill other players that bought Rage without any actual backlash, whilst proposing that would "freshen up" the faction pvp?

Doesn't seem that "non violent" to me huh

If you're allowed to aggress people on your village/claim for defense mechanics, this is the only aggressive action non-rage characters should get imo. Anything else leads to alt abuse and weenie warriors who run rageless.

If pvp is going to be permadeath, it needs to avoid allowing non-permadeath players impact on it aggressively or alts/bots are going to explode in additional usefulness.

Sadly, with pvp being permadeath alts (or even bots) already are exploding in additional usefulness. Nobody wants to risk their characters.

Just make it so that aggroing one in party will aggro all the other party.
This will be very helpful in dungeons too, because it's so hard to click to spawned beast when he not aggroed you.

There's an order of scale involved, but yes permadeath pvp will always result in alt creation. And tbh permadeath everything else kinda means you should have some kind of backup if your main dies.
