New Credo: Sailor

As suggested by MagicManICT, I'm making specific topics for each of the new credo ideas.

Sailor Credo.
Depending on Nomad, maybe Pearl Diver. Ideally Pearl Diver should depend on Sailor.

Possible rewards, in no particular order:
- Constitution +25;
- Increased swim speed (stacks);
- Increased speed with dugouts and rowboats;
- Better trash recovery when fishing (stacks) or shipwrecks;
- Significant damage reduction to boats when crossing into a whirlpool;
- Increased speed in shallow water;

Possibly some other bonus related to salt water or costal biomes.

speed buff for swimming is irrelevant if you get caught with out a coracle its your own fault.
idk how i feel about boat speed tbh.

Irrelevant for PvP, yeah. Being able to swim the speeds of boats if you have all the credos is just dumb.

And agreed on the boat speed.

So how about instead of higher swim and boat speed, you just get higher walk speed (probably 2nd speed, maybe 3rd?) in shallow water and less stamina drain when swimming?

I don't mind the idea of sailor credo in general, but, overall, this particular idea doesn't look like too interesting and doesn't even feel like having much to do with sailing.

To give some specific feedback:

Ok, so its either credo of 50 or 80 quests minimum. So rewards should be respective.

All of these are marginal, but that is fine. Usually credo gives 2 or 3 such marginal bonuses. I say, keep last 2 as at least they are not boring repeats of previously earned rewards.

Now, the credo should have a reward or two that are actually worth getting credo for and which are, preferably, support described playstyle.

This one could potentially be it, except it is very mind-boggling why knarrs aren't included here. Both from thematical and gameplay perspectives. If anything, I think it should be otherwise - only knarrs would be affected. Simply make it add 1 level to the top speed of any particular piloted knarr. So speed range would change from 4 - 8 interval to 5 - 8 when piloted by sailor. Or maybe even 5 - 9 would be fine and will make it relevant for, hopefully fixed in the future, nautical PvP.

The credo would probably need one more good reward and there are a lot of ideas that can fit this role. My personal proposal would be free anti-drowning "Silver for the Ferryman" effect with a significant cooldown (week or so), but I can think of plenty of other rewards.

As you pointed out, most of the bonuses are similar to what you get from other credos. I know stat boosts and similar are not that interesting, but most credos give at least some, so it make sense, especially for the first levels of a credo.

The main reason I didn't include Knarrs is because they already have different speeds based on quality. I guess your suggestion could work, but I would probably limit it to Knarrs built by Sailors. It would make sense, since they know how things work better (and in this game everything has the ability and knowledge to build anything, skills permitting).

I think the free Silver Ferryman is way too strong, compared to what most other credos (even high tier credos) give, especially with the large oceans we now have.

I'm a big fan of unique materials / crafts given by credos, and with the new ocean in play, I could see a new boat coming into play: a mix between the raft and the knarr, a large ship that allows you to load Wagons on it. Even better if more than one.

It could be balanced at any later point by changing the cooldown if it turns out to be too strong. Maybe, unlike the ring, you also lose your gear when it activates.
I might even think that it is on a weaker side and here is why. Later tier credos can be roughly divided into 2 categories: those that benefit whole group of people who have a character with that credo and those that mainly benefit character themselves. Sailor as discussed belongs mostly to second category, and comparing current sailor to the first group I don't see the need of having one in my village over almost all others. I will prefer having villagemate with farmer / tailor / miner / herder / blacksmith / potter / scholar / gem hunter / cook credos way more than sailor in roughly that order. Comparing it to second group: mystic and nomad are way more generally useful, strider provides more reliable PvP escape/chase options, cave hermit is somewhat on par and depends on playstyle I guess (but I still would prefer cave hermit first), and only pearl diver feels worse.

Anyway, it's just a simple idea. Unlocking unique craft could also work. Or a number of other ideas really, but they better be attractive ones as increasing boats speed won't really cut it.

Surely one of the rewards should be boats you're piloting getting damaged less by ocean travel?
