It's not "allowed". They've tried making mechanics to stop it without massive unintended consequences. It just hasn't worked sadly.

It was fine last world, a catapult took an hour to dry and you could poke a hole in and grab the resource. The 24 hour dry time siege change is what brought this back.

Yes please!
If I may suggest, while you look into it, consider disallowing logging out / in next to them too (kinda like u can't login when in an unfamiliar claim). Too many people leave alts offline next to those to just pop in, grab, and pop out when the time is up (or when there's 0.3 litres of spring water).

Exactly, 24 hour siege nonsense was a mistake in general and this is one of the consequences.

All bases are invincible currently due to this too...

Also this is completely pointless as we will just figure out the distance required and keep doing it with slightly more walking.

You have to make a choice, claiming and palissading and fighting for them, or alt bots that log and gather.
Betwen 2 evil, first choice may bring better gameplay IMO.

Maybe natural resources could spawn little fairies that will go in one direction, destroying everything in their way, until they arrive at a lake, river, or some other object that cannot be walled.

Maybe have some kind of spirit or golem enamating from the Natural Resource that destroys any obstacles in a certain radius?
