Take the number of animals spawning in the world per hour alone and imagine the number of tracks they'd have to leave and which have to be computed ... (Guess the reason why you can't build and craft in The Hunter Call of the Wild ;) )

Also if you ever seen a HnH battlefield with all the scents you wouldn't want tracks

the meaning of "much like scents" was how it shows the direction the person is in. the skill would allow you to see the closest animal you select like if i was hunting bear i would click the hunt tab then click bear and it would show the direction of the closest bear. bots are alrdy used in the tracking of animals so adding this isnt game breaking

Would be pretty op. Could just work in small radius like 100. And be affected by your survival, will and intelligence. And I think you shouldn't be able to choose any animal from start, only after killing animal X times the ability to track it would be unlocked, you know you can't track animal you have no knowledge of and killing it shows that you spent some time with that animal and could get some info about it.

Tracking from a blood splatter of a fleeing animal, pointing towards the next splatter (or the animal in case this was the last time it bled) would be something.

It would be probably easier to implement if shape of each splatter indicated direction of animal movement at the moment of dropping the splatter.
I can already imagine an arrow-like shape for that. ¦]

Like in Don't Starve? Sure, would be good. Just picking up something like "Scent of the kill" from a blood spatter would be good enough.

I know our forum software is old and searching isn't intuitive like it is on Google, so use that if you must, but at least try to find your idea first. There's a good half dozen threads on this from just the start of this world, and it comes up frequently. search.php?st=0&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&keywords=track%2A+hunt%2A&fid%5B%5D=48 The devs are well aware of the needs of a better system. I don't know what the internal software looks like, so it may not be an easy or fast implementation, plus they have other things they're prioritizing for the time being.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Combine this with animals don't despawn while they have active blood spats, and we have a winning idea!

If we're gonna do something like wandering around tracking scents and putting a lot of effort into it, a skill like this should really cause an animal to spawn.

Would let hunters track animals on quality nodes as an activity instead of spam logging alts.
