Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

nerf alts ( nat resource picking on login )

give everyone 1h in game time ( 20 minutes ) debuff on login that prevents from collecting natural resources,
name it "connecting with nature" or something alike

alternative idea would be to prevent logout but i would say 1st option is much more acceptable [ opinions ? ]

just to clarify, i do use alts to collect resources too, its not fair and its not fun, this debuff would make player at very least risk losing his alt
I am absolutely cool with abusing advantage in one form or another but login in and out at specified time is boring and does not make game any more interesting,

The problem is the natural resources imo. Fix them, don't bandaid the problem.

Prelong collecting and make anybody being able to be attacked while collecting (auto spar, no rage, no killing, person who lost ability to collect a node for 1 hour, any third person joins spar, naked alts can't) unless someone with rage has crimes toggle on.

Fix to natural resources is to make them spawn randomly around the world when collected.
This is probably less than 1 day of work for devs and would fix pretty much all of the problems with people walling localized resources in or camping them with alts.

The whole point of localized resources was to create focus points for PvP. This rarely happens it seems. The fundamental problem being that the characters are more worth than getting the Resource.

There could be small duration before the resource can be picked from a newly spawned localized resource node.
Would reduce effectiveness of alts while still making contesting of these nodes possible.

As for the localized resources, i'm sure I can find a dozen threads on the matter if I can find one. The devs are aware. We need a unique solution that catches their interest, not the same rehashed ideas. I'm with sevenless: the whole system needs changed. there have been some good suggestions, though jorb, at least, hasn't given indication that he likes any of them.

Small resources like that just aren't worth risking a developed character for. No matter what the intention was, that's not what they have become. Meteorite is a good example of that mechanic implemented well.

I think most people want/expect localized resources to stay pvp free due to how they're balanced. Fixing them into pvp would require them to be completely rebalanced somehow.

as per title my man, nerfing alts, I am happy with the way natural resources work tbh, I just think that creating new character and spawning him next to wherever is too profitable at current state
I see most of comments are about nerfing natural resources but I never mentioned that and my idea is purely about nerfing alts so they are not so efficient in some functions they perform
