Them disappearing after death makes hunting mallards and less so swans too difficult, far more than it should be imho

Jorb definitely needs a reminder that this needs to be a thing. ;)

(Just to note, it gets mentioned about once a world since animals walking into shallow water became a thing.)

If killed by sling, arrow, or melee (aka damage) sure, if ran over, no.

TBH, no. Birds typically fly away from larger objects. When's the last time you saw a bird ran over by a boat, video or otherwise? (I'm not talking speed boats and such moving at a 100 knots.)

swans get hit regularly by cars because they are stubborn creatures.
