Give tableclothes their own special slot

Postby Bozdogan123 » Sat May 04, 2019 2:06 pm

Its doesnt make sense how tablecloth uses space on the tabletop, there are 2 empty slots on the model where you could put stuff. A special slot kinda like minecraft's shield slot.

You just want to extend the amount of slots on the table, don't you?

this is a good idea, because when you compare tablecloth to some metal cutlery and other stuff it turns out to be very bad (unless you are a princess who wants everything to be beautiful), so while it's fine if it takes 2 inventory slots if it's in your inventory or a cupboard it should take only 1 when you put it on a table, just like waterskins take only 1 slot in a toolbelt
or we could just add another slot just for tablecloth like the OP says, this solution seems to be better

well is there something really bad about it?

Yeah its kind of stupid that people don't use tablecloth because having like 2 different cups is better.

Alternative suggestion to make tablecloth useful: Without tablecloth, your table will decay because some food drops in it and makes it dirty!

nah, it just is weird how i cant put anything over the empty space on the table cuz tablecloth somehow occupies it, 9 slots are good enough

How about if we have a few extra slots on the table, but rather than being items that give direct FEP/Hunger mods they enhance the other symbel items on the table.

Candles (for lighting) - Only apply bonuses when being burned. Different types to modify FEP/Hunger/Energy? Made from rushlights, tallow, beeswax, candleberry. Cannot be polished. (rushlights would be cattail heads made with animal fat on a 1-1)
Tablecloths - Leather/Hemp/Linen - Silk. (Hunger/FEP/Energy - All 3?)

Perhaps these could enhance hunger, FEP, Energy, and the last is all 3? (Also cannot be polished)

Just throwing that out there for a more complete feasting experience.

Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.

No thanks, just more shit to maintain.

The final solution: table cloth gets its own slot. table slots are reduced to 6. People cry on forums about the nerf.

Pretty sure they used to only be one slot in legacy. Not sure why this was changed.

i dont get why it takes up space the whole point of table cloth is that it doesnt take up any space cuz you can put things ON it.
see homo sexuality trending,. do not do that.

I think it should go back to being just one slot as per legacy. I'm just not sure how to look at in in terms of symbel item "balance." I'm not sure a table should be set with two or three cups just because they're the best items you have and you now have one extra space. The balance question is does this give a small section of players a significant advantage over the rest of the players? If this were a typical theme park MMO, the answer would be "there's no harm, so sure, it's fine." This is as competitive as anything out there, so any edge case needs to be analyzed. I don't have the data to do that.
