Sheep AI

Postby dageir » Fri May 10, 2019 10:34 am

I am having close to a mental breakdown here.
Whenever I open the gate to the sheep they start to bounce off the walls of their enclosure and on or two of them get out as they come bouncing off a wall.
Normal sheep would follow the human coming into the enclosure in expectation of food or treats. Please have a look at the sheep.

Sheep are animals, not pool balls!

happen to all animals, they might have 20x50 pens and yet they still all crawl to the gate and just stand there

Domestic animals (non-leashed) being somewhat attracted to a closest food trough, would it be cool?

Part of the charm of the animals is that they behave in a similar fashion to real life animals. I know my cat does things like puke on my bed or attack me at random times. Animals making a bee line for the exit and causing general anxiety and frustration is part of the immersion.

Maybe, but shooing only gives them a new chance to bounce out of the pen.

I prefer to make proper pens of stone or wood. Using benches makes no sense and is far from historically correct or even practical irl. It breaks immersion.
