The mechanics of building and using this thing are quite possibly the worst part of this game right now. Farmers a credo profession, so when the farmer goes, the entire village suffers. That's an entire group of people, potential customers, getting turned off due to a single root issue.

Please give us something that takes less effort and time to use.

I feel your pain, however a slow growth, annoying for most, mechanic is a source for small villages/hermits to specialize, offer labor in trade. I dunno, right this moment I would offer alot to a hermit that bothered to get his grapes to above 50q and I think that is ok. I personally feel your pain but I think the trellis crop mechanic should remain really annoying to most.

Probably not be an absolute pain to build.

Want to play any normal produce? just build a single plow, go at it and plant it. doesn't take long.

Want to plant a bunch of trellis based stuff? Better go get chopping wood for an hour.
IMHO the problem with trellis is that it just takes too long to build any significant number of them. Change blocks to twigs and the issue is probably fine. Also would be nice if they were easier to place, maybe change it so instead of 1 trellis per build its however many (4?) can fit on one tile.

idk its not as bad as people make it out to be you build it once and its done forever. stuff like trellis/cheese racks should never softcap anything because rebuilding them is a pain in the ass. could be cool to be able to just make 1 really long trellis instead of having to make multiple 1 tile parts.

Modify the quality each harvest. So you don't have to keep uprooting and replanting them. You trade off having to replant them with having to build the stupid trellis in the first place and the significant longer time it takes for them to get to harvest stage first time around.

Just make them buildable in the same way wall segments are. One big section that requires the sum of mats to complete. Would be literally 1000 times better than it is now. Hell, do that and increase the mats per trellis I don't care, I'd still expend more mats just to do that.
