Title, the whole fight balance and intensity system were much better imo.

I give my full support to this idea.

The legacy combat (pre movement-nerf) was way better than any of the latter systems.

And also better targeting system than current one.
I've been only fighting boars back then but was it much more fun, you could use every move possible so there were no artificial limits(current one feels as such, ie. imo combat classes don't feel like that). Current one has it's benefit being easier to learn but old one could be like that too.

Fast idea: armor typess could simulate what we have now. Some moves being more efficient vs plate armour allowing to have different metas in PvP and also PvE.

Figuring out the system was rewarding, and enjoyable.

I would personally like this system merged with the combat discovery system, and fix combat discoveries so you can generate and use ip with a fresh hearthling

Combat intensity needs to start at 5, not zero. Line of sight needs to be changed to allow for us to call down thunder threw trees etc. and evil eye will need to cost 4 IP instead of 2 because of how spammable and OP it was. Oh, also drinking while running would need to make a come-back (no reducing speed while drinking).

With those changes I could see legacy combat working fairly well here
