Hidden mechanics - silk

As many other games, thing that making you love the game - is hidden mechanincs, that allows you get something occasionally.
Make it so, that death head crysalis will give another type of silkmoth, that will have differences from normal butterflies.
More silk, or another color of silk - anything.
So if you will get male and female from crysalis and will breed them - you will get new type of silk.

I like the idea of rare variants that happen when you use a rare object in a recipe, like hopped up cone cow. Like the suggestion for a Fabergé egg, if you try to use a golden egg in the Easter egg recipe it would produce that instead. A rare variant or product of unraveling a death's head chrysalis could be fun.
