Change it to 30 seconds maybe if you think it matters.

Two minutes is just plain annoying.

I only care about it because have to sit on deep ocean during this time.

And kelp has so many spawns, multiply by 2 minutes waiting for nothing it's just annoying..

I started doing it now with 3 knarrs at once so the waiting time get countered by this.

But think this shouldn't be necessary for everyone to do if they don't want to waste their time.

Already expect people to deny this just for their own saltiness.

Just to reiterate for jorbtar: any of the ones that are or would be contested are claimed if possible, or any fights start before the new item gets spawned. The rest... nobody wants that badly. it's not worth a losing a character, even if just a throwaway alt, and not worth a claim. A timer of some sort does prevent someone from just swooping in and snagging it.

I think 30s might even be too long. 15 or 20 would probably be enough. That'd give anyone a chance to engage someone else in the vicinity.

Yeah exactly.. And for every single one of them I care to be there on spawn: never saw anyone contest it, the entire world.
The alt harvesting resources thing is only huge in the minds of the sprucecappers.

I've ran into others harvesting an ancient windthrow that sits just right that it cannot be claimed and protected, but it was only neighbors we are (were... they quit playing a few months ago) friendly with, so we worked out a rotation so if we ran into each other. For everything else in my neck of the woods... I either don't see anyone, or it's half full (if not completely full). In a few cases (lotus flowers), I haven't ever found more than one, but I've seen them sitting more than a day or two beyond their reload time.

Oh wow yeah then must have been interested locals...

But I mean like for ''contested'' localized resources I haven't seen any alts logging in when it spawns or something..

About the lotus flowers they serve like 0 purpose.

The only purpose before was ; when your miner is doing a credo, and need to gain 1 psyche on a 400+ fep bar on 100% efficiency, then a lotus would be handy.
(and this purpose got killed by hunger % being scaled to satiation, you just mine on 99% dairy satiation now)

Aside of that, the logic of ''waiting until high stats and then they good'' doesn't work because you won't be capping anything.
And even if you have lotus bloom for str/agi it doesn't matter because there are foods that give 1 full bar at like 5k stats so that's going to be another year and a half or more so doubt they will ever be good before w12.


But yeah getting a bit sidetracked ; fuck the 2 minutes waste of life. The game cost enough time as if, the 2 minutes have shown to do nothing at all so might as well remove it entirely.

I think shortening the timer to 15 seconds would be fine if the one who harvested it can't travel or log out for a minute or two. At least that way you can do things while the timer ticks.

-1, I like the timer because if I need a resource I'm more likely to actually get it, since people won't harvest a resource just for the hell of it any more. Geysers especially I've noticed usually have a couple brimstone now.

So you like the timer because you're not involved in anything but you just like it that people don't bother to pickup leftover matches.
