experiment with risky changes now

We're at the stage of the world where barely anyone is playing. It's probably a good time to experiment with updates that are likely to be bad so that the few people who are still there can provide feedback and maybe next world players won't leave so fast.

Bad PVP/siege/realm changes in particular can feel devastating when there's still competition, but there's almost none of that left.

You may consider that most of those that are still activly playing yet aren't the ones that enjoy

Well i think i have to write clearly;

Consider that the very most that still play activly yet are in no way interested in PVP or Siege stuff ...

Wouldn't that actually be the worst time because all you'd get is that "hard core" feedback and is likely to not be indicative of what a wider audience would think?
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

I disagree, a lot of people who still play are in factions and would fight if it was possible. Fights don't happen because things are unbalanced, not because no one is interested.

If this crucial part of gameplay isn't fixed before next world, the wider audience will quit rapidly like they did this world. Newbies will build their base, think there's nothing else to do, get bored and quit. Personally I think the game would have more long lasting appeal if base defense was an important part of the game.

I think it's better to listen to the hardcore audience for now and when next world starts, if others dislike the changes, they can chime in with their opinion.

The hardcore audience is everyone who still plays despite the low number of other players. The ones I know of are mostly AD or HH, probably because I'm part of AD. A lot of fighters quit but some do remain.
