Un-removable snow issue

Can't build a smelter on snow tile. Can't shovel tiles partially covered by existing smelter. Can't build smelters close together during winter. I'd say poor planning on my part but until winter, who knew? If it can snow on a tile we should be able to shovel/remove said snow.

Would I be enough if hot objects (fireplace, oven, cauldron, smelter, ...) would melt the snow some tiles around them?

Why do you constantly look for tedious workarounds to simple requests like shoveling away snow

Clearly we can't pick up small items dropped on the edge of the bounding box. Either it isn't possible with the current server code, or the ability to do it is more costly (in terms of troubleshooting and potential bugs) than worth the effort. If it's the former, I think Granger's suggestion is pretty reasonable way of working around the problem. If it's the latter, I don't see the policy changing for this.

Wouldn't it be great if land surveys and mass-digging didn't freeze up entirely because snow tiles aren't dirt so it won't bother to dig them even once

why not search for a tedious workaround when you can just search for a tedious workaround? ¦]

anyway, both of those things should be implemented! if the snow tile was partially covered by a log cabin I think I'd prefer to dig the snow away!

Pavement, dirt, vines, and all matter of things that change ground tiles have suffered from this since forever. Every building or object that takes part of a tile or allows for part of a tile to be visible renders that tile untouchable.

It's been asked for 100 times, why would they change it now for something that is going to go away in a few days by itself anyways?

I don't get why there would be any hate here, Granger is right. Hot objects should have a radius around them where snow cannot spawn. It's the simplest solution when you consider the history of this issue.

This also has lots of functional purpose aside from aesthetics, like having torches or bonfires, or other firey objects along roads and whatnot.

I like melting things around hot objects, but I also wouldn't mind some sort of solution to the problem of unreachable tiles. WIll consider.

Nice, we got a "will consider" Maybe after the Client re-write and a new combat overhaul, this could be the next project Loftar looks into?
