Diagonal pavings should prevent wild grass growing through, so if we make say a circular field within range of bee skep, we should not have to pave around it a second time.

PLEASE FOR THE AESTHETIC AND EFFICIENCY USE OF SPACE. Ty for attending my TEDtalk :D

PS: and yes pls don't complain that I am growing all wheat around the bee skep, I need to to feed my fucking animals (cuz they are fucking a lot  )

Not sure that this is enough reason for reworking biome spread mechanics.

There are probably a dozen of different ways to do this without even touching the grass spreading mechanics, me think, I would like developer input first before we speculate on the merit and/or difficulty of implementation.

You don't have to add a full second ring.
You just have to add additional pavement at the diagonal gabs in the circle.
Might not look as nice, but should do the trick. (could be done with different colored pavement for aesthetic purpose)

Frankly, I don't think I mind natural terrains spreading through diagonal paving; the distance is so small that it makes sense. However, there may on the other hand be a case to be made that non-diagonal spread only would look better in the large-area case, so I might consider it for that reason instead.

I wonder ...
Image
- Fixed Seed(rnd). (A1,B1,C1), ...
- Plot size: 100x100 - (seed tile at (50,50).)
- Iterations: 10.000(A,B), 20.000(C)
- Diagonal spread. Yes(A), No(B,C)

C looks overall very similar to A, just needs more iterations.

I think that the edges look very different on C, way more less ugly branching than in A.

we need somebody to divide a large patch of land irl in to square quadrants and plant grass in the center and monitor the way is spreads.
