tiny meteor rework please

whats is the current situation
meteor is cool addition to the game, available only to the best players

what it causes
in order to stay at the top, it is not in interest of best fraction to sell it

what is proposed solution
with every meteor drop, please add 0-3 meteor shards dropping somewhere on the map, their location would be random, untraceable by hearth magic ( that would still pick up only the location of the main meteor ) and their size would be of random boulder size

It sounds good in theory but realistically, it wouldn't work. Factions would use bots to find the shards and the noobs wouldn't get anything.

Also, AD does sell meteorite. The price is very high because demand is very high, though.

Other than L9 mine and a funky ring, what does metiron get you? Doesn't look like anything necessary to PvP, though those L9 trolls are likely pretty good compared to the L8 ones....

Maybe. Bigger question is, would most people want to run the risk of roaming around near where the big fight is at for scraps? For that, I'll argue a 'No' and so this idea doesn't really help them, anyway, bots or not. What it would do is increase the amount of ore and thus metal in the world bringing prices down a good bit.

And there are no big fights. For months now AD have been the only ones who show up to gather meteorite ore. Since we'd probably get all the shards too, the prices would probably not go down since we'd still have monopoly.

As for the risk: what risk? You can't get killed in one hit anymore. Even if you went to gather meteorite with your main and some guy hit you with his q99999 B12, you'd just end up with a bunch of wounds but you could hearth home.

People only show up when they think there's gonna be a fight, and that's only to fight, not for the meteor. It's honestly at the point where an industrious hermit could get meteors if they really want to.

Also, it is in the interest of factions to sell it. Its only purpose is to trade for absurd amounts of cast to people who think it's valuable.

I might have been wrong about AD getting all of it, then. But we seem to be the only ones selling it, so presumably whoever else has some is using it for something.

And I mean, it is totally worth giant piles of cast iron. Meteorite makes totally chic furniture!

Yep... it's been like that for a while. Hermits complain that they can't get meteorite but most of the time, they don't even try.
