crazy decay of stockpiles

with how much decay is crazy this world, you level terrain for you base and you see that one from 10 your pilles is spreading stuff around it when you dig... it should be at least timegated so stuff start to decay after at least few hours after placing in the world, or maybe create some only decay preventing claims for setting small camps 5x5 tiles, not expandable, doesnt prevent any crimes, just stop decaying stuff, this could also help with road maintance.

Pave underneath to stop it from reverting your work. I agree that's dumb if You're unlucky with decay hits but there are still ways to counter that shit.

Maybe you are just unlucky, I haven't had any problems. But I guess that they could add some protection of no decay for first x hours.

I thought decay rate was good last world, don't know why they increased it. Who doesn't like exploring ruins?

We haven't increased the decay rate, though...

If I were you, I'd double-check.

Have also noticed increased decay; stone stockpiles on unclaimed cave terrain are just completely gone after a short while, whereas previously they'd last for ages. If that's not intentional, there's a bug (or unintended design consequence, likely related to the change that stockpile decay drops items) somewhere.

Loftar, can you re-check the decay code for stockpiles? I just placed a stockpile of 23 ore (underground, layer 2), walked away (went back to layer 1), came back less than 30 minutes later and I had a 1-ore stockpile and 22 ore on the ground. (Well, assuming it was originally 23 and no ore vanished - I didn't check the count.) I think rather than knocking a few items off the stockpile, it knocks all but one off (or perhaps it just keeps going with decaying the stockpile and I just happened to walk in at the right moment).
