Fisherman credo too difficult

Postby shubla » Sun Apr 12, 2020 12:47 pm

There are too many types of fish, finding 1 specific take hours. Its stupid.
I pretty much abandon every quest that asks me to fish ,even though this is a fisherman credo.
There should be multiple options, like "catch one fish x, y or z" to make the quests even somewhat tolerable.

But it's one of the easiest as long as there is no ask for cave fish which is really difficult.

Opinions differ, I found cave fish rather easy compared to specific ocean fish or whatever.
Can differ a lot.
But yeah fuck fish credo.

Just putting it out there for the sake of posterity: when people ask for credos to be made easier, they actually want them to be either reworked, or entirely removed. The only reason they don't ask for this specifically is because they know Jorb won't do either in a timely manner, and they're in the bargaining stage of grief.

Credos bad.

Did fisherman as my 1st credo, and it was really easy, just took some time to find different nodes. Just like forager can ask for impossible, so can fisherman. Only thing i would like to change, is how many beavers you have to kill doing this credo. That quests come way too often (study teeth, tail).

As Aceb said, I actually find this one really easy ... all you need is the Primitive Casting-Rod then just search the fishing nodes with a variety of lures.

I got cave fish early into it and thought it was going to be a problem when I couldn't find the specific one in my cave rivers and lakes but then I just asked around and luckily a neighbour had them in his lake ... the one I was stuck on for the longest was eels, I spent 3 days looking but then met someone living on the coast and they had them right next to them and gave me a feather fly to catch them with! (Thank you.)

Funny thing is now I find eels all the time, even in the lake by my home, lol, you just need to have the right lure. :)

You must be in the "anger" stage.

I really don't find catch quests in fisherman difficult if you have a group all working on it and sharing node information. On the other hand, as a hermit, it has been a huge pain in the ass, and I'm with shubla in that you just want to skip all the "catch x" quests. At least with the nets, you can passively catch a lot of different fish to cook, clean, or take to trees.

Snail isn't wrong, it's not that Fisherman is the problem, it's the entire foundation of credos that's the issue. We still don't have choices when progressing credos, Jorb said years ago that he liked the idea of a "Do this OR that" to progress to the next tier, and yet we're still stuck rolling dice every quest with ranges between "Eat 1 piece of food" to "Craft 8 troll helmets and give them away to a tree" that all progress you 1 point.

I don't disagree. I like the concept, but the execution (quests generated) and rewards need some major rework.

Fishing credo is in no way hard. Hilarious that OP has 100 other topics wanting the game to get more irritating but can't handle one of the intro credos.
