Bait for Orca&Cachalot

Would be nice if we could craft a bait and hang it on our knarr while sailing the deep ocean to attract orcas or whales within an acceptable time because now you can sail for hours and cant find any.
I bet 90% of this 400+ cachalot which got killed during W12 where spoted by scouting bots.

Attaching whale baits in your boat sounds dangerous.

How do you handle the change in whale meat availability? This would dramatically increase production by factions in the know by botting multiple baited boats.

I think the idea is that there is no need for bots if its easy to get whale by bait. Of course meat prices will plummet but the alternative is that only botters get lot of meat and others get none.

Bots can get whales easy anyway. Making manual tasks like this easier closes the gap with the botters. +1

Yes its kind of like forageables. Normal people literally don't find the rare ones anymore, at all, because devs have reduced their spawn rate to nothing because of botters. So now no one can enjoy picking them.

Is this because of item pools or something else?

"Rare" foraged items--pearls, glimmermoss, eidelwiess, and others--do have a global pool similar to the resource nodes. When they refresh is a closely guarded secret among those that know, and those that can hit the sweet spots tend to snag what is spawned fast enough that those missing the time will get nothing. A bit of a different topic, and has had its discussion, but thought it deserved an answer as to what it was since it came up in the conversation.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

with 468 whales killed the whole world, i know the mole folks were one of the best whale killers. with 1-3 whales a day for a month straight with no whale bots. Whales are fine as is. The base ql could use a boost imo, same with trolls.
