Chickens too hard to catch

Yes its kind of cool that they run away now but maybe its too rough? Getting bones etc. earlygame is difficult enough even without this new change. Chickens start running in all directions making catching them quite impossible ordeal.

Shubla... no they're not. You can easily catch half the flock and that's reasonable enough.

It requires a little bit of tact, knowing when to run and when to sprint, and to try to herd them in the plains.

Do they run endlessly like magpies and such now? I haven't seen myself
If so then I can agree that that makes things a bit too rough

iirc they run endlessly, but not fast enough that it's much of a problem

Eugh... Even if they are fast enough to catch (barely) with running, or moderately with sprinting, running endlessly is... tedious.

Maybe rather than running away intelligently they should kind of bob around in a panic if that makes people happier?

I think the point of them running was to make them feel more alive as opposed to braindead meatbags watching their approaching doom, not really to make them more annoying to catch.

Yeah, it'd be more fun for them to run around in circles instead of straight away in a line.

Yeah. If they had a shorter run distance, or at least not endless, it would be definitely feel more lively than before but not nearly as tedious as currently

That way they would scurry away from the player a little distance, return to aimless wandering, repeat.

I've rather been enjoying this new addition, which is probably argument enough for most people to want it removed. For what it's worth, I look forward to seeing how it affects early gameplay.

Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.
