Farm slimes and giant moles

Farming is very easy mode, and it shows. Its industrious sister, mining, is choc full of danger despite being of the same reward and engagement level. It shows the handholdy, casual nature of this PvP game that enables casuals to accumulate unreasonable amounts of carrots at no cost to themselves.

Since mining has to be pointlessly obnoxious and full of interruptions, and we can't just copy the creatures from mining, I say we reskin them.

First and foremost, since water grows crops, and slimes are 99% water, and crops are alive, we could certainly have brown mud slimes, born of the raw life of the field. Way more believable than a wet globule suspended within pure dry rock. Depending on the quality of the crops farmed, these slimes would get much stronger.
As for a parallel to boreworms, we of course need giant, rabid moles. Once in a blue moon, we could even pull up crops that lead to mole dens. Two birds with one stone, fucks up the farm, the farmer, AND creates engaging content. These moles would flee and reburrow and be just as obnoxious as the normal moles and boreworms, in a double whammy.

Both of these frightening creatures could come with a horrible suite that take 50 mental weight for no particular reason at all and aren't even worth 5 mental weight, as well as craftables, and whatever else comes with dungeons, for the mole.

People are free to add on ideas, but for too long farmers have had to do this content that takes as long as a full time job with no hindrances or tedium, besides the fact it takes forever.

I think at its very root this could be a very cool idea! Add some fun little encounters to farming. Moles have been in my personal headcanon for haven farm villains for a while.

More ideas:
The notion of a 100% yield from crops is just ridiculous. This game doesn't feature blights, plights, plagues, weeds, or pests, despite having the perfect framework of pests. Slimes destroy stockpiles and you can (and will) lose almost an entire gold vein to a cave gallery, so what gives?
Where are the rabbits congregating around villages as dynamic entities with burrows that sneak through gates and walls to eat at tubers and pea pods? The moles? Where are the diseases that crop portions need to be burned to maintain?
Why would a perfectly tilled field, rife with discarded seeds and raw organic matter not be overtaken by weeds during its emptying as well as the early stages of crops?

Farmers should have to ward off hungry pests as well as deal with threats during their harvest. Given the short maturation time of crops, adding any sort of these dynamics like blights, plagues, weeds would mean these things are frequent enough to make farming as obnoxious and tedious as mining, which is a staple of Jorb's design.

It seems like he's trying to move away from awful things that are pointlessly bad, but hopefully he can hear the merit in these ideas.

I feel as if I could mention some of my favorite schticky sci-fi and horror movies and games--Tremors, Wasteland (the original way back on Apple II, IBM PC, Commodore, etc), Stardew Valley, Arachnophobia, etc etc. I've got a slew I could mention.

i don´t really like having too spend points intoo combat on an farmer, it would also be way more taxing than for an farmer than an miner already investing into strg and cons , but i support an way of botprooving farming.

In my experience, most people who willingly farm manually do so because they specifically don't want to participate in combat. I think as it is works well for the most number of different playstyles. Perhaps there could be something not involving combat, though. Like, instead of giant moles, there could simply be a mole infestation and the farmer needs to catch them all. Or, maybe an event similar to the strange fruit one from runescape where a odd plant grows and it needs to be harvested before it's too late.

+1, not that it will matter anyway.
