q containers

quality of containers would add +0.1 base and +1% to max capacity.
structures could benefit too

capacity maybe, 0.1 base? hows that gonna work? u could switch items from container to container to increase quality.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

Container's quality could apply a "softcap" to items inside, something like a ticking decay of Q if the container is of worse quality than the item.

That's the most awful thing I could imagine. Wouldn't people just make alts and store their important shit there due to the containers? And if it was made so that things decayed while in a characters inventory, how horrible would that be.

The main problem with this is not the idea itself, but how quality progression works in Haven. Qualities of materials like wood and metal strictly go up as the world progresses, so this is simply resulting in containers gaining more storage space during the course of a world.

Since nearly everything is abundant late game, including storage space, there is no point.
Even if you tried to find the worst resources in your base, your cupboard/crate would probably still come out as q200 or something. You could really use those q200 containers early game, but there is no way to build them yet at that point.

I think only a few containers should have quality, and it shouldn't change their capacity but rather be a softcap for the content.
Those containers include barrels, demijohns, possibly buckets and such.. things that hold liquids mostly, making them work like tanning/curding tubs or cheese racks.

For the "chest" kind of container this makes no sense at all.

The cheese rack change was bad, and this is just as bad, if not worse.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
