Hearthing has a very small cost. I think it might just be one tick of minimum weariness usage. Docking a boat is ~50% more expensive than taking thingwalls the same distance. You can always dockport, and the TW used caps at your maximum. So boating out with an alt so that the alt can port the boat home while you hearth lets your main keep their TW.

If you've ever maxed your TW without tobacco you know pain.

Ship-hearthing is not just flawed in that it's easily circumvented via an alt, balance-wise it's also just stupid expensive.

Bringing a whole ship back should cost some hefty travel weariness. I agree that its kind of stupid to circumvent it via alt.

But there are some real reasons for it too.

Imagine that you want to transport character X from A to B.
You can drive snekkja with alt from B to A, and then X can teleport to A for nearly no cost, that would be kind of dumb!

One option would be to prevent teleportation if there is not enough TW, but that may be a bit too rough.

Personally, i don't feel like "return home" should have a high TW cost for anything; it encourages people to go about far distances if they know they can come back home. I don't mind if teleporting large distances that AREN'T back home has a high cost, since that encourages people to stay within safe spots (i.e crossroads)

Maybe do something like...

1. Docking/Hearthing is always free. Docking can't cost a lot or you'll just get people abusing alts, hearthing is duh.
2. Pipe wheeze inflicts a scaling wound similar to bum burn; i.e the more pipe wheeze you already have, the more it hurts you.
3. When travelling a crossroad, you can travel a set distance without consuming any travel weariness at all, based off your will (i.e if the cost would be<1%, it becomes 0).

This makes it so that the primary consumer of travel weariness becomes long distance crossroads (i.e quest networks, jumping to nodes around caves or mountains, etc) and thingwalls, while maintaining the ability to use convenience crossroads without worry. Also stops TW from being a complete non-factor for big factions if they can afford it (I also like the prospect of making it harder to defend distant territory from your realm if it would require you to spend a lot of TW and thus smoke a ton)
