Some of us can't play every day. Is it really necessary for Nidbanes to kill you in 24 hours if you don't log on? Your obviously going to log on eventually and it can just attack you then. They were originally added to make it so murderers didn't get away effortlessly. Well now instead it seems Hearthlings can be killed by Nidbanes effortlessly. It seems it went from one extreme to the other. Would really appreciate a middle ground.

I don't understand your logic. If I commit a crime regardless of how much I play someone can summon one. Some of us have lives, so its difficult to log on every day.

Shubla is whining about siege mechanics---that if no one in your village logs in for a month your village can be sieged down.

Shubla is an idiot, and you probably shouldn't listen to him.

+1 this is dumb did not know that was a mechanic, just makes auto-login bots necessary when you need to take a break while outlaw. The fact that you can be sieged and killed during this time anyway if you don't log in makes this seem weird.

They were added as a means of replacing force summoning characters for certain crimes.

Look at it this way: if you want to make steel, you have to log in regularly to make sure you keep it fueled. If you're raising livestock, you have to log in regularly to make sure the animals stay fed. If you want to commit a crime that can end in a Nidbane being summoned, you have to log in on a regular basis to make sure you aren't going to have to fight a Nidbane. Or use an alt you can sacrifice.

So they should make everything in the game requiring you to log in daily because other things require you to log in daily?

Also, this is a completely undocumented feature. If you go out and commit a crime, knowing how scents/outlaw systems work, you can think yourself completely safe as long as others in your village log in. That seems like a completely reasonable assumption. There is nothing that indicates that "if someone summons a nidbane on your scent and you don't log in within 24 hours you will instantly die." How the hell are you supposed to know that logging in once a day is a required precaution?

Don't assume that you can just make crimes with no consequences.

You can literally cheese nidbanes.
