Make Visitor Gates the Default

Noobs mess up their bases all the time by using non-visitor gates. The only people who should use Non-visitor gates are the ones who know what they're doing.

Make gates only be visitor gates. And hide a "de-visitor" option under the adventure menu that you can only apply while the gate is under construction, or within a minute of it finishing.

I don't really understand why visitor/normal gates exist. The distinction was to remove safepalis, but the only purpose of normal gates is to enable people to make safepalis? IDK seems dumb

It should just be a toggleable thing, so that you could toggle gate to be visitor/non visitor, some timer or something to prevent most ridiculous abuses.

This sounds like removing content, with extra steps. That's a big +1 from me!

But seriously, can we just go back to W10 gates? The point of this change was to cut down on safe-pali's. From asking a bunch of different pvp folks over the years I've never really gotten an answer that sounded like this was achieved. At most "Eh, maybe a little?" This newest style of claim charge buggery probably does more against safe palis (of the siege variety at least) than this gate system ever did. Which was basically nothing.

On the other hand, these gates are an unexplained mechanic that screw over sprucecaps with their differences, and not being able to walk through an open space due to the status of "combat" is big dumb, even for animals. Maybe you could allow people to pass through visitor gates during pve but not pvp (and also not pv(e+p), get off my back bug abusers), but this is just building on top of a change we really never needed.

Also the flags are a bit ugly, have no variable material, and no sketchbook.

And now begins the avalanche of people who absolutely are in love with visitor gates, have strong opinions about how they wish pvp would work despite not being realistic at all, or have no clue how W10 gates worked and misinterpret this post altogether.

IIRC, the point was to make things like World's Fair more easily achieved without weird ass claim and gate setups. That it has had a negative impact on base design is definitely an undesirable side effect.

More faction fighters have died to somebody in their group losing their safepali key and not telling anybody than anything else in world 11/12. I think safepalis are a lot harder to coordinate/share and in cases with bad designs use than they used to be.

It's for sure better purely from a PVP perspective, but it's only that way out of laziness or not having good safepali designs. You can make gates that work exactly like visitor gates world 10 with current mechanics, it's just people are too lazy. IMO, every gate functioning like a visitor gate does now in both PVP and PVE would be ideal.

why? allow us to apply this during all times

but it looks like this idea is just better

I'm happy with the original post, make "Visitor" gate the default and "Owner" gate the secondary choice. Someone who didn't read lots of guides probably would quit before they ever made a palisade, but in some future where the game is more intuitive, it'd be nice if their default was the safer one.

Can you explain or make simply picture about safepali design? I dont understand this term and i play 2-3 worlds of heaven. I did only airlock system with normal gate. Visitor gate prevent fights inside airlock with tougher animals or wolf packs and its easy for me and friends to not let them escape etc. I dont use visitor gate because no one visit us we we play only together, we rarely trade and if even do it i travel to close market or simply meet guys in woods :)
