remove drinking for stamina from the game

Postby MadNomad » Thu Feb 10, 2022 1:47 pm

noone drinks a whole bucket of water when they become tired from running

perhaps someone would drink 0,5L or 1L, but noone drinks a whole 10L bucket or more

it is a dumb feature

the passive stamina regeneration should simply be a lot higher

combat is already broken, it's not like a real fight looks like running back and forth or playing tag

we should have some other combat where we mostly stay in one place, and only move if we want to change target or when running away if we don't want to fight

for example mount & blade has combat that looks normal(and involves skill), but HnH doesn't

another reason for combat being broken is that it is 100% dependent on stat and 0% dependent on skill

now let's stop derailing this thread and move your discussion to the proper threads about it!

This Is not that fool like It sounds .... A rework of stamina (old and obsolete as It is) could be a good addition if well done.
Tho It requires some Deep thinking ... But right off the batt I'd say almost instant stamina recover if you keep water and Energy on the right levels, work and combat depletes both, no eating allowed while in combat.

The show can begin!

I can agree that combat system in H&H is a pure shitshow but throwing random ideas at the wall and looking what may stick isn't the way to fix it.

Break, or change? I can't imagine running around for hours is the optimal combat experience.

It wouldn't break combat mechanics. It would break the PvP meta. Big difference, there. I won't speak for combat in the current worlds, but if there's even a fraction of truth to "show up with a troll belt full of waterskins" is true, it's already too much like legacy's big problem, and it's one of the big things I absolutely abhor about PvP combat in Haven.

Just to note, I've been saying this for years. If skirmisher-style/DOTA/LOL MOBA movement combat is the meta J&L want to roll with, there needs to be other means to make it a thing. Treat it more like a marathon runner puzzle--management of stamina and energy. As the legend goes, the Ancient Greek warrior attributed for the first "marathon" run collapsed and died at the end of his 26 mile run.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Interesting fact Is that while the more popular tale of the Messanger Filippide, Who collapsed and died as you Said, Is Just a legend ....
True fact Is that the Athenian army had to run back, to protect The unguarded Atene, Dressed in bronze plate armors, shield and weapons .... And be ready to fight soon after that. That was really impressive.

Also do note that was One of the decisive Battles for the West!
If Greeks Had Lost that Battle, probably now we Would be eastern people.

it wouldn't break combat, water has 0 effects on running away as u should be able to run away in 5ish mins if ur not redhanded.
what it does change however is the barrier for entry to PVP as drinking is one of the main factors that separate good from the bad.
see homo sexuality trending,. do not do that.
