Foragers should be able to safely pick crabs and such

There should be intended way to 100% safely pick hedgehogs and crabs, getting wounds on random is just dumb. Perhaps "Less likely to get wounded when picking dangerous animals" should be a part of forager credo, instead of boring +10 perc. So forager equiped with gloves would be completely protected from such wounds.

imo +10 perc at the start of the world is pretty nice to have, wearing gloves should be enough to not get overwhelmed with wounds

hedgehogs you can just beat with combat moves to avoid getting wounds, doesn't work for crabs because those disappear after being beaten up with combat moves

but yeah, not getting wounds from picking hedgehogs would make hunting them more comfortable

Or you can ran it over with horse i know. But some quests specifically ask to pick it, plus you can still get wounded while butchering, which is even dumber imo.

To minimise the wounds you can pick it with gloves, then you can drop it and beat it in combat. I don't think I've ever got any wound from butchering it while it was dead.

Goodness gracious, you might have to take all of 7HHP damage once or twice. (And no the wound only happens on picking up and wringing neck, not butchering.)

i dont like taking damage for doing nothing wrong. From a gamedesign perspective i think damage should be a punishment for some sort of fuckup, not a random thing to spice up your everyday activities. Speaking of which, should we discuss bird lung shenanigans again?

If it were any other game, I'd say you'd be right. I think the powers that be are somewhat dedicated to the current paradigm of "you get wounds, shit happens, deal with it," though, and I tend to agree with them in that. If every wound could be completely mitigated what's the point of having them in the first place?

Being able to mitigate annoying wounds with cutting edge technology serves as a reward for progressing in the game. Plus tinkering with wounds and credos we can enforce further separation of duties inside the village.

Which duties inside of a village are connected to wounds?
