0 dura equipment

Dura seems somewhat all over the place. You have items like nettle shirts that can never break, but then you have leather armor that breaks after the dura reaches 0. Please allow you to continue using 0 dura items, even if they no longer prevent you from taking dmg.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

This is important for items like the Bat Wing (cape), which has a primary function of preventing bat aggro and as secondary function has a gilding slot. I'm pretty sure nobody actually uses the Bat Wing for its armor, but I still have to take it off every battle because if it gets too damaged it will break entirely.

This would make gildable armor significantly more useful for sure. Many of these items are actively avoided because of them being breakable, and since most are fragile anyway it's doubly true.

I feel that most armor is too fragile. And I think the culprit is choose of linear function as relationship between quality and armor HP. This makes grow too big and disallows for tweaking. Maybe reconsider putting armor dura into golden standard method with sqrt of quality? This way we could buff HP at lower levels and nerf at higher.
Cool bonus to theese would be making broken armor changes into it's broken version so it could be repaires instead just disappearing. Thanks for reading.

Would like to bump this:

Needing to constantly cycle out mammoth guard, bat cap, boreworm mask is very big feelsbad. Also never wanting to use leather boots.

Please make broken armor lose the armor value but keep giving gilding bonuses and base stats. It would be a huge QoL increase.

(I'm not sure about shields, but shields are not something you constantly swap away from because of chip damage.)

this still holds true , maybe make the item in question loose all its boni, (exept gilfings mayhapps) but stay eqipped but torn,
the item could late be repaired though,

would devenitely stop the aversion many players have for leather boots, badger vest and etc,

I agree with this,I also think that things should be able to be repaired with materials, scaling with certain skills,if your skills are too low the maximum condition will go down or the quality to some degree, armor is very expensive and with the skills hearthlings have I feel as though the repair feature should work on them.
