This world is miserably small

Postby Sevenless » Tue Oct 31, 2023 12:50 pm

I'm sure gankers are happy, but this world feels way too small. There are no "fuck off" places at all like in recent worlds, midcore groups with aggressive pvpers are getting pushed off the two most settled continents and showing up pretty much everywhere.

i mean, given that the intend was to spawn everyone next to thingwalls on the main continent, and whirlpools being blocked untill activated, they fully planned this world to be an fieldtripp for the people rushing b12s 14 days in to kill spruces in there dugouts more efficiently,

without them fucking up the changes at worldstart, we would have 200 players less already, and half the playerbase just would have gotten there fur dropped on the ground every 2 houres

also thingwall placement is unfortunate, i can hop continent and reach the volcano in the middle in 4 hops or less , no matter on wich continent i am,

It's inevitably impossible to satisfy everyone. If you make a good effort you'll find peaceful locations, although... but i think there's always the luck factor :D

It ain't small, you are just on the central continent. Hop in a few whirlpools, because there's plenty of places to go if that's your wish.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

Starting Continent, good; Thingwall spawn, Amazing;
Sailing from dragons to dragons in an afternoon, BAD!

World is indeed too small.

Give it 2-3 months, the population will drop to 200-400 and it will be too big to actually find anyone.
It seems small rn, because we still have around 1000 players online, everyone spawned on the central continent and hermits are unaware of how whirlpools work.

im pretty sure i was among the first to whirlpool off continent, and let me tell you hermits know about whirlpools,
they are popping up like mushroom on the non spawn continents too, i never had that happening to me in the last worlds, usually you could get on an relatively peacfull spot , if you where with an midsized village or alliance, you could even somewhat claim or secure an section of an smaller continent,

this world there is just people living door on door, the same raiders ride their sneks on all continents, and i had people pass me by from every continent, looking for an less crouded space,

Two subcontinents already packed to the gill, moved to a third and it's starting to fill up.

The fact that people feel the need to move 2 weeks after world start shows something's wrong.
