I think seasons are awesome, they just need to be more important and all lasting the same amount. Winter could be fun if it added more things to do, rather than just stop everything.

As Abraham Lincoln said, 73% of statistics you find online are made up on the spot, including this one.

That being said, other than removing something they worked on and can be interesting, how about suggesting ways to make it more entertaining?
For example, adding ice trolls that can spawn on frozen waters... or bear dungeons that only spawn in winter when bears hibernate... winter crops / trees... there's plenty of options.

People have been suggesting, and they have been trying to make winter not bad for years now. It's still shit, just less shit. If we stick to the current trajectory it might be on par with regular haven in 20 years.

Learn to accept when something doesn't work and cut your losses, pls. The throwing shit at a wall to see what sticks method doesn't work when you waste all your time trying to force the bits that don't stick back on the wall.

i had an good time in the last winters, mound beds pretty much make winter optional for farmers,
and sleding around in search for hermines was fun too,

but with only 3 days of winter it took 1 day and an half for half the map to freeze over, creating an spotty landscape full of unfrozen and snow tiles, wich you couldnt reasonable traverse with either sleds or horses/foot, and although most rivers where frozen sufficiently to make boat travel impossible, most of them had unfrozen parts wich made them an obstacle still,

and no bears is an bummer, since that is all my miners would want to eat at that point, unless we stockpile it like some crazed prepper, or you just have 3 days worth of seal/whale/troll stocked up already,

the problem isnt winter, its to little of it.
