I know that game is dead but my ideas on how to keep it alive are not.

Meteor is cool but it happens so rarely and is directed at top players and fractions.
Imo there should be some smaller events also, in multiple places, some of them offering rewards that top players wouldnt bother to waste time for, idk, offering boosts on low q items ? Axe q70 ?

That would give people something else to do besides talking to your favorite tree and bringing it few rocks. Also encourage exploring, made spots on map where you might meet someone in a dead world.

Few small events, few medium events, and a meteor every week or two.

I like the idea but theyd probably become death traps

For a while, but when player count drops it will keep new players engaged

Aren't J&L against those system-run events like the Meteor because they don't want to gameify the social aspect of their game?

Yes, they prefer organic interactions over forced events like Meteor.

That's too bad. It might be better to suggest tools that would make it more convenient for players to host the events they want. (I've seen some villages use Barter Stands to create Treasure Hunts or some kind of Quest reward system)
I doubt J&L are looking for a dedicated Game Master to manage events in their game even though that would be awesome.

We already have some seasonal events, maybe they could expand on those.
Like Bear Hunting Season in the fall, or the Easter Egg Hunt in the spring. (You can craft and hide eggs for other players yourself, but who actually does that? :o )

"...the social aspect of their game..."

Social aspect??

Like when you're standing by the river, fishing, and another player rides up - "Hi, how's it going?" ...and kills you?

Or someone opens a market which gets great reviews for three weeks ...before it is destroyed.

Or a public well is opened for everyone, then destroyed by one person.

Yes, we all are aware of the social side of this game.

More like an antisocial aspect.

I remember random encounters and brief interactions I had in Haven from 10 years ago. That one time someone left a Christmas gift at my gate. I will remember that forever. The 15+ years I played World of Warcraft? I don't even remember my password. Death by a thousand QoL updates.
but I agree that Haven, its developers and the playerbase aren't perfect.

True there are memorable moments in the game. A few worlds back my town mate and a neighbor gave me a birthday party; the neighbor, quite advanced, gave me a full set of high q farming gear with four nice gildings on each piece. I wore that proudly the rest of that world, sadly that player apparently did not play any subsequent worlds. Thanks Vintre, wherever you are.
