a NPC town with an official currency

Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

a NPC town with an official currency

Hey everyone,
I was thinking it could be really cool if Haven & Hearth had some kind of NPC town or settlement, similar to what we had in Salem MMO.
It wouldn’t need to be big or take away from the player-driven world, but it could add a nice touch of atmosphere and offer some interesting interactions — like basic trading, quests, and an official money :). Or please stop bashing brodgar :D

Uh huh. And choose the best botters to automate them.

I bet Hafen already has NPCs, if you consider current bots.

Automate all in-game activities: farmer NPC, herder NPC, miner NPC, ... All the activities that are already being botted (abused).

I don’t mean creating NPCs to farm (that’s an idea, but not mine :p). What I mean is more like a town — similar to Brodgar — with stalls and a currency system. Inside the town, players would be safe, but the town itself wouldn’t be a farming or grinding area. It would serve more as an official trading hub, with high taxes but offering safety and accessibility.

Salem has all that and a safezone around the town.
Various NPC to buy and sell items. A bank. Graveyard. Leaderboards. Rentable stalls.
Every player has a skill to teleport there. It's great place to meet other players in safety.

I wish HnH players had something like that.

The town in Salem is cute, but I don't like its static permanence. I've had thoughts before about like, rare little pop-up fairy/forest sprite/whatever villages that act as small safe zones with Salem-style trader NPCs, but disappear after like a week. Similar spawn logic but rarer than dungeons.

I really like the idea of dynamic pop-up safe havens for social interaction. Could be interesting. Not sure what traders would do though.

I dunno, I'm really just picturing the NPC market from Salem mostly. The fairies will trade you 3 dewdrops for 10 dandelions and you can trade 15 dewdrops for a Fairy Pouch (otherwise unobtainable pocket gilding,) while this fairy over here will trade you a single Q20 acorn for 10 dewdrops etc etc. Randomize it a bit so the deals can be better or worse, make some of them limited stock per day, or per spawn, or something, maybe there's a quest fairy in the middle that the whole thing spawns around, who gives you dewdrops for quests, and the whole thing is basically just a Supertoad, bingo done.
