I'm not against it, but I'm thinking about how it could be abused. And, accordingly, how to prevent it.
I don't know why the author of this post needs such a function. The most likely option is for trellises. But maybe they want to uproot stumps by area. Or destroy bases by simply selecting an area. Or maybe all of these combined. Or something completely different.
If it's just for grape trellises, there was a suggestion to add a garden tool, a garden trowel, which would allow for quick removal of vines.
On the one hand, this would add a new tool in addition to the area-based destruction function. On the other hand, the garden tool won't be used to destroy bases and roads by simply selecting an area.
