Good observation.

Actually, I quite like that possibility - perhaps give it a timer instead if the person is aggroed. Makes combat less binary, potentially.

... seriously? the abuse-able side would be raiders down you in the wild and then banish you. Now you might maybe still have your stats, whatever they didn't steal, but your base is gone and your map is 100% useless. This is the worst fucking idea ever.

What?

Most people know how to walk back to their bases.

I like the idea, except the avenue of abuse possible. It should not be useable on outlawed people, and it should be only useable if combat has ended (This also means that a downed person should auto-yield)

I feel this would be really shitty for hermits and small groups

from spawn sure, but if it's sending you back to spawn you can just walk back to the base you are grienfing as well. He said it should send you somewhere random in the wilderness, which could be an hours walk from your base, or it could be 30, if you get placed on the opposite side of the world, and if your a hermit how will you even find the right way to walk? things that are the most punishing to the noobiest among the community are not adequate anti griefing measures as they will simply become griefing methods

For hermits and small groups their characters tend to be more valuable than their bases.

I don't like the aspect of destroying HF though- maybe it can give a debuff that prevents you from hearthing instead (but not logging out)?

I'm seeing a lot of generic "It'll be abusable" without much specifics. Could someone outline some scenarios so we can work out the flaws perhaps?

The situations were given before-

Let's say you have outlawed characters in a village, and you are getting raided (Or, you are running from a larger party during a fight)
To cut losses, you can KO the outlawed characters and banish them, saving them from otherwise inevitable death. Same in the second scenario.
