Ive built about a dozen wells this world using a rod and a lil system to narrow it down, but frankly this is the biggest piece of shit system in this game. Half the time it suddenly looks at another well while ur chasing one or spins randomly and throws off your pattern. i dont get how with the well system they made in salem and the system in w7 they change to a fucking guess system. Why not make the rod twitch when near a node that would be 100x faster then looking at a pie slice with an equation that defies logic.

The purpose of wells is to make life easier to get water from when you are far from rivers and so should take some effort, but not haha lets make them walk in circles fer hours looking at this pie slice that is useless unless your the one who programmed it. Hell why not give us the arrow from your salem code at least that would make sense with a dowsing rod.

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree ... I have yet to ever build a well with the new system, it seems no-where is suitable for a well anywhere I ever am! I've long since given up even trying.

I have the same problem, I spent a ton of time looking for a spot to build a well while using the dowsing rod, and have yet to find any place suitable, ever.

Jorb and loftar like seeing players in agony.

Firebrands, wells, animals running away faster than light if you hit them with little rock etc.

They should do away with dowsing entirely and just let us build wells where we want them, most people are still going to get water from a river or lake for quality anyway

I love this idea, and I was actually thinking the same thing but had refrained from posting it, because I wasn't sure that it follows the developers vision, I guess we will have to wait and see.

I agree. Wells look super larpy, but at the moment they're basically impossible to build in good spot in your village unless you built around a well in the first place.

And it is such a shame, as Onep says, they look lovely and I sooo want to have one.

This system you talk about is very slow and using visibles squares i havent managed to make a 2x2 big enough for a well. Ill try later but its not a big solution.

As for oneps and Amanda: I really like the old system where you were able to see the spots. It was like a lottery and it was very fun to build wells everywhere but if the devs dont want wells builded everywhere they could be only builded on claims.

Which was, back then, the right sequence to found a village: find water and make a well, then settle.
