Lack of wood is one of the defining aspects of living inside a cave. You have to bring in all the wood from outside. If cave life gets too much support, there would be no disadvantage to it, and everybody would be living in caves.

Free light source! It'd be a feature.

The issue isn't wood itself but rather fuel material. Hides could be used for that, and on L1 roots are expected on caves too. Caves can't hold charter stones and you can't farm in them, and I'm almost sure you can't raise animals inside them either. it's unlikely any player would live in them for too long. It's not about realism but about allowing different playstyles and more variety in the game. The underground world is 5x times larger than the surface, but currently it's a wasted space without unique content.

There are plenty of people living in caves already, me included.

If you absolutely want underground fuel material, coal works as well.

Animals can technically be raised inside caves, but as far as I know you can't bring cows, sheep and pigs into caves (not sure if this changed in Hafen). Horses can go into caves just fine, though, due to being able to ride on them.

For farming, I have a road to a cave entrance, and my farm is right outside the cave entrance.

I live in both a cave and the outside world, and have done every world bar my first. I think industry is ugly, lol, so build all that kind of stuff in my cave ... above ground is my farm and any houses, animals, decor etc. It's the perfect combination imo.

I'd support more life in caves ... not so sure about too many dangerous ones tho tbh. I've yet to see a rat in my cave, lol, but like that they have been added. Would like fish in my underground lake, would love some insects and am ok with snakes so long as they aren't horrid like the ones in salem. :P

I think caves are too barren right at this present.

I would love to see more then whats in there myself, but time will tell. Why I found the link, its some times easier to point out a lot at once when people have already made a basic list.
