Maybe its because objects can move to another minimap? For example: you will pick up objects from same minimap you clicked first object. If same objects lays on the other minimap they would not be picked, even if they are at the next tile to you.

Its okay Coles, it'll just be a feature that should be part of the default client that is instead implemented in custom clients.
