I think even the faction will use the sickle for highest quality crops.

Yes, in case you want maximum possible quality.

I though about the cap being a soft one (but only lowering in case q of sycthe is lower than product), so for stuff like harvesting swill the result will still be high enough to not cap the animals.

I too would love a sickle tool.

... +1 if it works with chop and sting.

I don't know if it should be counter balanced, or if it should be capped.

But I do like the idea of faster harvesting.

Thats a +1 from me :)

When foraging you can continue your journey as soon as the item arrived in your inventory, no need to wait for the animation.

Not a fan of the cap as it has no basis. However I can see it harvest the three potential tiles in front of you. ie. directly in front and the diagonals, not three directly in front. It is after all a sweeping tool. I don't mind adding the sickle. It's range however should be one tile.

A large amount of players who care only about there Q, would only ever need to use a sickle. (plot players, village of 3x3minimaps, hermits).

Large production/mass farming is normally only done for a very few items~ And normally only done by high end or factions (hemp/flax farming).

Production/mass farming is normally preformed on a bot/alt in quick straight farm rows with the farming assist (in all clients). So time would not be a factor on alts/bots. as you can let a alt/bot idle in the background.

Making an upgrade to a "Q capping scythe" would be done very rarely and a very small % of players would do it for the convince.

Steel would kill the Scythe idea since why waste steel until you have large amounts of it? most players cant even handle it steel making.
Scythe tool would be for making banners basically.
