I did mention low soak and bwall cornerpost dependency.

Expensive low-soak high-HP chains that block ships but not rafts and maybe not boats seem to me the best idea if the devs are unwilling to implement mooring and anchoring features.

It is unclear these only block the ships I think. But if it's low soak, it isn't very secure. Unless I can protecting the ship with similar security to walls, I think I am not wrighting a ship.

To secure your boat(s) and cart(s) and wagon(s), simply pave a tile, plop down this big stone / metal / thingy post, slap lock on it, right click the post, right click the vehicle, they're now connected to each other, can't disconnect them without key. The 'post' could have as much soak as a palisade.

Even if their security didn't take the form of walls over water I kind of have a feeling once something to help prevent them from getting stolen is in place they are big enough that players can use the boat itself to block some rivers or multiple for larger rivers.

I guess that's a possibility but I'm not sure what's worse. Players potentially blocking a river and forcing someone to go on land to get around the 'river block' or the constant risk of vehicles being stolen, namely Knarrs. I mean we can now place wagons inside palisades which is a great change that happened, but now we have a vehicle that takes MUCH more resources that has to sit on your claim open to being stolen.

We can have solutions that will give us cake we can eat and still have.
