I've definitely had compresses for a week or more straight.

Too much "realism" takes all the fun out of the game. I am about 45 "real time minutes" from a mountain. That's a long time wasted to only make 1 0r 2 compresses when I need them. Or I can suffer with shitty stats. Either way, not an incentive to play because it's not fun.
