As this now nearly reached the timespan for a human to hatch from its womb... don't you think it's time to finally give this request birth?

It really can't be that hard to insert
Code: Select all
if (object is an animal and entering a tile) then {
 if (new tile is water) then {
  if (last tile wasn't) then {
   render some pixels deeper; reduce speed by X
  }
 } else {
  if (last tile was water) then {
   restore vertical position and maximum speed
  }
 }
}
into the appropriate location.

Come on guys, you managed to pull off such a fantastic game and this shouldn't be possible?
Make Haven great again!

Fresh complaint merged.

Need first to fix boat hunting exploit.....then this.
Make friends with the other crabs or try to escape the bucket.

This makes boat hunting less needed, having it first will reduce whining when boat exploits get nerfed.

How? At least now they can try to run away....with that you bring them on shallow water and it's done...

No difference to now then, apart from land hunting being more bug free.

And then they could give animals the ability to hop into the boat (or topple it over) and eat it and you, to mess with the ones who didn't get the memo that exploits are bad.

Maybe then animals shouldn't aggro boaters just so that boatbuilding nab following a party arrow doesn't get ninja'd by every boar

Although I guess walruses fuck everyone anyways with their impossibly fast land waddling

There's a precedent of animals in and out of water and having different speeds (Walrii, swan, ducks). its totally possible for all animals to be switched to the new system.

I would go so far as to say that walrii and swans were the test subjects for the new "animals in water" mechanic, which should hopefully be in the next few updates

I can already see it.

  • Animals are now one speed faster on land than they are in water. For example, boars are now just short of hearthling speed 4 on land.
