that's the whole thing behind perma death games, pvp is supposed to cost/mean something so you don't have the as hats who go out willy nilly and just screw with anybody/everybody
what you suggest is what the battlegrounds for world of Warcraft were during burning Crusade!
is that what you want?
CSPAN wrote:Im not so sure you understand what it takes to keep people playing a game. It currently wouldnt mean anything with how siege is. Tell me a benefit of raising your caps? To further yourself from new players? Or just so you can put off bitchin' a few weeks?
PvP shouldnt be about character development, as much as it should be about geopolitics and localized resources, have you been reading anything the devs have been posting? Hello?
CSPAN wrote:Maybe I should have put "more expendable". This game has a low retention rate. The point of a cap in the first place was so that people couldnt get to far ahead or have a character thats been months or even over a year in the making. Without a cap people will NOT leave their walls with a character worth saving, so in a sense, people will only fight with expendable characters anyways. The devs dont want people to put in a month or two into a character and have it sit behind a wall, they want to encourage social interactions and meaningful PvP that is more about this character against that character, but geopolitical warfare and siege. The higher the stat cap and longer it takes for the average player to reach it, the more likely they are going to chill behind walls and never come out, at least until theres an incentive. The cap is not only an attempt to give new players a shot at catching up, but also to push players who reach it to interact with the game differently. Get brave, stir some trouble, start some chaos!
