I'm not against the introduction of more realistic mechanics and I think your suggestions are reasonable and make sense. Vision/line of sight being effected by a helmet is the most sensible to me. Movement restrictions on mountains and the like don't sound too fun, chances are it would just push players to carry gear in their inventory and put it on when they need it, which is fine because I assume the point would be to effect combat more than it would regular travel but it does seem like a bit of a pain.

Please explain your viewpoint.

this will fuck up combat more, in order to chase someone down you will have to basically take off your armour everytime and run around naked if you want to catch up with the guy being chased which is a really bad idea smh

the stamina drain, stamina regen and speed always should be the same for the chasers and chased ones thats how you balance combat. this is one of the main reasons why horse combat is so cancer and unbalanced
There was a wise soviet conscript that was surrounded by the enemy on the battle of Stalingrad. A mortar shot teared his pants apart causing a big hole in his pants right on his right butt cheek. He felt a glorious cold ass breeze of wind on his butt cheek, like it would be sent by stalin himself, he said - hide your butts

So your point is that breaking up combat and fleeing should be impossible?

in legacy combat and pre-horse hafen combat when both sides had the same speed advantages(factors/idk) it was possible to flee and break up the combat even without this nonsense

Point of my suggestion would be that you have to drop the armor to be faster, taking it off dosn't help.

So in case you chase someone who does this you'll at least get some loot...

You should stop talking about PvP if you don't PvP.

This.

Overcomplicated, with a lot of flaws, possible exploits and huge advantage for scripting of all kinds. I mean, come on, impairing line of sight because of a "heavy helmet"? That's borderline trolling.
Also, breaking combat is a very controversial thing.

The only idea worth thinking about in this thread, in my opinion, is movement/actions impairment due to effects of different combat moves.

I think even when not considering the helmet the idea is fair with respect to night time vision impairment as well. Rather than aggroing a player turning you around why should you not be facing them in order to attack?

I don't see a reason why you should be entitled to have an opinion about something while denying me one.
