You didn't create a hearth fire when spawning at a Charter Stone previously, for the record. In fact, I believe at one point that if you lacked a hearth fire, you'd appear at the charter stone you were registered to. I always hated that mechanic, and felt that charter stones shouldn't be something you could teleport to at all.
It was then, of course, impossible to build a hearth fire given that you started under a claim, so your concern was obviated by the existing previous mechanic.
